fear is such a curious thing. people can be so scared of fear, so scared of seeming weak, or so scared of a secret coming out that they do all sorts of irrational things. sometimes they look more like animals than people.

we can try to remember how scared they must be. we can feel compassion or pity toward them. we can love them whether they want us to or not and they never even need to know. we can acknowledge the trauma in their hearts. it's really quite sad.

sure it's preferable to view people as equals, but someone who tries so hard to seem so big must feel very small.

Yes when we know ourselves at the deepest level, and honor ourselves, it is much easier to see the abuse of others as just so much nonsense.

LOL i gave it to my mom to read. i should get it back though.
yes it definitely helps to treat them as i would want to be treated, which is like what you are saying.
it definitely helps to realize it's not really about me no matter what is said that may contradict that.
actually i did some research and a part of me is flattered that i was picked for such attention since a person with integrity is often chosen. but i also meant what i said about showing self-respect. knowing what i deserve and what i don't deserve.
